UNITE Project Pitch 2024
We are delighted to announce that UNITE Collaborative will be hosting The British Society of Interventional Radiology's (BSIR) annual Project Pitch Competition on:

Wednesday 6th November 2024 at the BSIR Annual Scientific Meeting 2024
This is an excellent opportunity for radiology trainees, foundation doctors and medical students to pitch research or audit ideas to our multi-disciplinary panel in a ‘Dragons den’ style format.
The winning pitch will win an award from BSIR and up to £1,500 and will be supported by UNITE to take their idea forward.
The initial pitch will be a recorded 90 second ‘elevator style’ video with the top 5 scoring submissions being invited to face our dragons at the BSIR Annual Scientific Meeting 2024.
Entry Details
Entry's should be in the format of a:

Recorded 90 second ‘elevator style’ video pitch

Optional: Using a maximum of 1 PowerPoint slide

Cover the clinical question being answered/topic addressed, clinical relevance/rationale for project and brief summary of methods on how the project could be conducted and any required resources.
What to Include
-
Impact - What impact will the project have on patients, the public and/or people working in healthcare?
-
Innovation - Is the idea novel? Will the study add to the existing body of knowledge?

Feasibility - Is the proposed study feasible and deliverable?

Resource - What resources/ funding is required? Are the proposed costs/ required resources of the research reasonable and commensurate with the proposed work involved?
How to submit
Record your elevator pitch (max 90 seconds). You can use Zoom to do this (start a Zoom meeting, record it, do your pitch and then end the meeting to export the video file).

Email in the video file at unitecollaborative@gmail.com and include your full name, stage of training and current institution. Alternatively you can upload the video onto Dropbox/Google drive, make it shareable and email us the link

Deadline Tuesday 30th September 5pm
Marking
All submissions will be scored by senior members of the UNITE collaborative.
The top 5 scoring submissions will then be invited to a sandpit session with senior UNITE members to further develop their project idea before facing the judges at the BSIR Annual Scientific Meeting 2024.
At the BSIR Annual Scientific Meeting, the top five candidates will each have a 5 minute presentation slot and will present to confirmed dragons:
